Purpose & Objectives

The fundamental purpose of the Association is to promote and represent the common business interests of independent insurance agents within the property and casualty insurance industry and before the legislatures, and to promote greater understanding of the American Agency System of Insurance service to the public.

The objectives of the Association shall be:

  1. to maintain a high standard of integrity among its members by supporting right principles and opposing bad practices in the conduct of the business of property and casualty insurance;
  2. to promote and encourage understanding and cooperation among its members and insurance companies;
  3. to encourage the exchange of ideas and information on subjects of common interest, and to promote greater professional competence among its members by providing practical, coordinated programs for continuing education;
  4. to discover and interpret the needs of the insuring public to insurance companies, to the legislatures and to the regulatory authorities, to the end that the public interest may be better served;
  5. to promote and encourage programs for protection of life and property, and the prevention and control of financial loss resulting from accidents, fire and crime in the geographical area served by the Association; and
  6. to further good relationships with the communities we serve and from time to time lend support, both financial and other, to those communities.

The geographical area served by the Association shall be Westchester County in the State of New York.
